How the budget guards work

  1. Cache (7 days). Every fresh lookup is cached. Repeat queries within 7 days return instantly with zero cost.
  2. Per-IP daily cap (1 fresh lookup/day). A signed httpOnly cookie tracks per-IP usage. Resets at UTC midnight.
  3. Global daily cap (20 fresh lookups/day). A filesystem counter tracks the day's total fresh lookups. Caps community spend at ~$2.00/day.
  4. Tool-offline gate. If DATAFORSEO_LOGIN / DATAFORSEO_PASSWORD are missing, the tool returns "offline" without spending any money.
  5. No GET endpoint. Every lookup goes through a server action. Direct URL scraping is blocked structurally.
